Los Angeles Sports Arena, Los Angeles, California - Heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (26-0, 26KOs) blasted Kelvin Price (13-1, 6KOs) with a bruising right hand in the third round for a knockout victory.

In his second fight of the year, junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo (22-2, 18KOs) had a much tougher time than expected in winning a ten round unanimous decision over Jorge Silva (19-3, 15KOs). All three judges scored it 97-93.

Silva was catching Angulo with big punches in the first two minutes to the head and body. Angulo was being worked over at various points of the round. In the second, Angulo would come out swinging and started to overpower Silva during exchanges. At this point Angulo took over the fight and started beating Silva down.

In the sixth, Silva started to rally once again and began to knock Angulo around with big, accurate punches. Silva continued to give as good as he was getting in the seventh round and actually outlanding Angulo. In the eight Angulo picked up the pace with his workrate, but he was still getting caught with good shots. Angulo controlled the ninth and walked Silva down in the tenth with very bruising punches but couldn't finish him off.
