The exact status of Kell Brook (29-0, 19KOs) won't be known until next week. As reported late last night, Brook suffered a foot injury and it won't be known until early next week if he is capable of moving forward with a mandatory fight against IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13KOs).

The fight is booked as the Showtime televised co-feature on May 18th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Since the start of the year, the fight has been postponed twice. Initially, it was set for January 19th, but Brook withdrew with an ankle injury. It was then set for February 23, but Alexander pulled out after hurting his bicep.

Alexander's trainer/manager, Kevin Cunningham is frustrated and tells BoxingScene.com that his fighter is going to see action on May 18th - with or without Brook.

"Devon boxed ten rounds today and is really looking sharp. He's ready to go on May 18th with Brook or without him," Cunningham said.
