Hotel & Casino Conrad, Punta del Este, Uruguay - Former champion Acelino "Popo" Freitas (39-2, 33KOs), in his first fight since April 2007, which took place at 135-pounds, returned as a junior middleweight and knocked out previously undefeated Michael Oliveira (17-1, 12KOs) in the ninth round.

Freitas, 36-years-old, took the fight to Oliveira from the start and punished him. Freitas scored a knockdown in the third, outclassed and beat up Oliveira in the following rounds and then scored two more knockdowns in the ninth round for a spectacular knockout victory.

Oliveira had baited Freitas, now a political figure, for a long time. Freitas finally accepted his challenge a few months ago. After several postponements and various delays, Freitas turned back the clock when the two of them entered the ring.
