Richard Abril (17-3-1, 8KOs) feels like he left the ring a winner on Saturday night, even after his controversial split decision loss to Brandon Rios (30-0-1, 22KOs) at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. The consensus at ringside was that Abril had done more than enough to walk out of the fight as the victor.

"With all of my heart I feel that I won. The announcers on TV said I won. All of the Cubans and all of my people in Miami know I won so I feel like a winner," Abril told BoxingScene.com

The Cuban fighter said that he feels that his performance deserves a rematch. Shortly after the fight, Rios told BoxingScene and the rest of the press that he was moving up to the junior welterweight limit. Abril doesn't have any problems making the 135 pound lightweight limit but said that he would gladly move up to 140 pounds to secure a rematch with Rios.

"Of course I want a rematch with Rios. I have no problem fighting him at 140. I would fight him at 160 if that is what it would take to get a rematch," Abril said.
