BoxingScene.com had been advised that former welterweight contender Luis Carlos "El Potro" Abregu (36-2 29 KOs) is ready or another run in the either the welterweight or super welterweight division.

The Argentine has been inactive since being stopped by Sadam Ali in November, 2014. Not one to make excuses, Abregu said he had some personal issues going on in his life at the time and is now refreshed after 18 months out of the ring have allowed his body to rest and heal.

Abregu's representative Rudy Vargas said that his client is a promotional free agent and is looking for the biggest opportunities out there.

"He will need a fight to get the rust off and then he wants the biggest fights at 147 or 154. We would love a Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Jessie Vargas or a rematch with Tim Bradley at 147. At 154 we would fight Miguel Cotto or any of the best fighters," said Vargas.

Still only 32-years old, Abregu feels he has a lot left to give to the sport. He has completely revamped his team and Vargas revealed that he will also be adding Alex Ariza as his strength and condition coach when he begins training camp.

Interested promoters can contact Vargas for more information.
