British cruiser Luke Watkins (2-0) won a majority decision over Czech Martin Horak (3-4). It was scored 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38 after a close, tense fight. Watkins is trained by Paddy Fitzpatrick, who also trains George Groves, who is on hand for Abraham vs Smith. Also at ringside are Richie Hatton and Johnny Nelson.

"Iron Jr", super middleweight Vincent Feigenbutz (16-1) took apart Guram Natsuslishvili, from the Republic of Georgia but based in Barcelona, Spain, flooring him twice for a stoppage win 1.11 into the third of a scheduled 12-rounder. Natsuslishvili (8-2) suffered from bad swellings around both eyes already in the first but fired back when the hardpunching teenage prospect opened up. Feigenbutz was too strong though and can punch with both hands and early in the third he hurt Natsuslishvili with a left hook and then floored him with a right. Guram bravely tried to punch with the puncher but was put down again and the towel came in as the referee called it off. Feigenbutz thus retained the WBO I/C interim and GBU I/C titles.

Kiel, Germany - Cruiserweight Noel Gevor (14-0) stopped Hungarian Tamas Lodi (14-4-1) at 1.18 of the seventh after a one-sided fight. Lodi looked strong but never got untracked and soaked up a bad beating. Lodi was down in third and took what looked like a standing eight count in the fifth after a bodyshot that might have been low. Gevor upped the pace and Lodi fell apart and was hurt by the right handers to the body early in the seventh and went down again and it was stopped as he Gevor poured it on. Noel is trained by his stepfather, former EBU champ and world title challenger Khoren Gevor.

Light heavyweight Enrico Koelling (16-0) stopped Hungarian Daniel Regi (23-11) at 1.07 of the sixth. Regi was down in the fourth and twice more in the fifth and it should stopped earlier. Regi finally went down from a right hand a fourth time and it was finally stopped. Koelling treated the fight like sparring session and took a long time to get going against a rather soft opponent

French super welter Fouad El Massoudi (11-4) upset noted puncher Armen Torosyan (13-1-1) and won a unanimous decision after six rounds. It was scored 60-54, 59-56 and 58-56. Torosyan started very confident if not arrogant but kept missing with his well telegraphed big bombs and the slicker El Massoudi gradually got on top outboxing and outhustling his opponent for a deserved win.

Polish cruiserweight Mateusz Masternak (33-2) had an easy night against Ben Nsafoah (15-12-2) who retired in his corner after the fourth and didn´t come out for the fifth of a scheduled eight-rounder. Nsafoah was a late sub for Gabor Halasz and was only in it to survive with Masternak, now trained by Ulli Wegner, working him over at a steady pace.

British middleweight Matthew Macklin (31-5) opened Sauerland Event´s big show at the Sparkassen Arena with a hardfought eight round majority decision over Spain´s Jose Yebes (12-6-1). It was scored 77-75 twice and 76-76. Macklin was not in top shape and struggled against a tough but luckily for Matthew light-punching opponent. Yebes kept coming and Macklin faded in the later rounds. In the final round both went all out for a strong finish with Macklin´s heavier punch making the difference.

Super middleweight Stefan Hartel, (2-0) won on a disqualifcation over Leo Tchoula (9-6) at 2.50 of the fourth of a scheduled six-rounder. Tchoula, outboxed and outclassed all the way, stuck his tongue twice and was ousted the second time. He had a point deducted in the third when he made a protest against the referee.
